This design is inspired by Mount Rainier, and by forests and mountain lakes in general. The evergreens break the boundaries of the border, and the vector shapes in the mountain and reflection hold hidden ‘easter-eggs’ requested by the engaged couple. There are 2 layers of laser-cut wood, one is painted and engraved with custom text and one is stained. It also includes handmade archival paper and gold-leaf.

This design was created for a couple who described being inspired by a serene Vermont landscape at dusk. It includes 3 layers of laser-cut wood, one of which is stained for contrast and the background piece was hand-painted before the custom text was engraved. There are also dozens of pieces of torn hand-made paper, as well as gold leaf all incorporated into the design together.

This couple got engaged at the foot of a beautiful waterfall in Oregon and this piece is inspired by that romantic location. It includes 3 layers of laser-cut wood, one of which is stained for contrast and the background piece was hand-painted before the custom text was engraved. The waterfall cascades in a flow of silver leaf. Fireworks burst in the sky for their 4th of July wedding day!

This design is inspired by the stained glass window found in Prague’s most famous synagogue, called “The Spanish Synagogue”. It includes 5 layers of laser-cut wood, one of which is stained for contrast, two of them are hand-painted before they are laser-cut. The custom text is engraved into paint and there is also a beautiful layer of hand-applied silver leaf, all of which come together in this impressive 3 dimensional assembly.

This design was made for a couple who described loving nature and redwood forests. They also loved the idea of the trees representing a strong supportive community of friends and family watching over them. This design allowed for their vows to be shown in three languages. It includes 2 layers of hand-painted and laser-cut wood.

This design is inspired by the gorgeously complex designs and patterns that decorate the walls and ceilings of Prague’s most famous synagogue. It includes 3 layers of laser-cut wood, one of which is stained for contrast and the background piece was hand-painted before the custom text was engraved. There are also several different elements of archival colored paper, as well as gold leaf, all intricately designed, cut, and assembled by the artist.

The bride who commissioned this piece is a geologist, and in our design consultations she mentioned that malachite is one of her favorite stones. From that inspiration this design grew and I decided to include the stone itself in the final product as a very special ‘easter egg’. You can also see a layer of silver leaf on archival paper and a layer of wood complete the hand-painted background design.

This design is inspired by a rose-window with brightly colored stained glass found in the ‘Nazareth Synagogue’ in Paris. The couple whom it was made for enjoyed a tour of several Paris Synagogues a few months prior to their wedding, and felt this image could reflect their love of bright colors and, most importantly, allow a multitude of ‘custom name spots’ for the members of their family to be showcased. The stars of david in this piece have hexagons with magnets on the back that can be removed so names can be added as their family grows throughout the generations. The custom text is engraved into paint with a dark ink behind for contrast, and to allow the text to be signed using the same ink. There are also three layers of laser cut wood, acrylic paint, and a beautiful layer of hand-applied silver leaf on paper accentuating the stars and diamonds.

The couple who requested this design wanted to ensure that their piece would have a timeless feel. The design incorporates a hand-calligaphied text that was ordered from a traditional scribe. The intersecting rings around the text represent two lives coming together and give the text an organic feeling. There are a half-dozen layers of different hand-made archival papers, as well as one layer of lace.

As the name implies, this design has an idyllic landscape with traditional jewish influences. One layer of laser-cut and stained wood is overlayed on nearly a dozen layers of intricately laser-cut paper. There is also significant use of gold leaf, including for the custom guaranteed-archival text.

This design evokes the idea of looking out a window at a Jerusalem landscape at sunset. The trees have olive branches and there are elements of a desert night sky as well. There are about a half-dozen layers of hand-made archival paper, gold leaf, and wood. The text in this piece is gold leaf and cut paper, guaranteed never to fade.

This design was made for a couple who had roots in both Israel and Hawaii. As farmers they really wanted to incorporate native plants of each place into their ketubah. For even more customization, their text was in English, Hebrew, and Hawaiian, and they are pictured together in a traditional Hawaiian “ali’i” structure. This ketubah has 2 layers of hand-painted and laser-cut wood, as well as paper with gold-leaf.

This design came about after many conversations with an engaged couple who are passionate about scuba diving. They also expressed that autumn is their favorite time of year, and for an even more custom piece, there are several ‘easter-eggs’ hidden in this design which are significant to them as a couple. This piece has one layer of stained laser-cut wood, one layer of hand-painted laser-engraved wood, as well as over a dozen laser-cut paper elements collaged together.

This desert landscape incorporates many personalized touches requested by the couple it was created for, including some kabbalistic references. It has one layer of stained laser-cut wood, and one layer of hand-painted laser-engraved wood. There are also laser cut paper and gold-leaf elements all collaged together to create the final product.

This design brings together landscapes inspired by the midwest and the west coast. There are two paths that physically and symbolically come together. There are two layers of hand-painted and laser-cut wood, as well as paper and gold-leaf in this piece. The couple also chose to incorporate some hidden ‘easter-eggs’ into this design.

This design has one layer of stained and laser-cut wood, combined with 2 layers of hand-painted paper, and one layer of paper with gold-leaf. The text was originally digitally printed with archival ink, and this can be substituted for other text printing methods.

Here, I joined together two different visions from the bride and groom in a way that was meaningful to the couple. One was a big fan of ‘Dr Who’ and the other wanted something more timeless, to symbolize the home they were going to build together. We worked as a team through several different iterations and landed on this surreal and beautiful scene, with a few ‘easter-eggs’ as well. There is one piece of hand-painted wood, one piece of stained and laser-engraved wood, and one piece with copper-leaf and laser-engraved, as well as several laser-cut paper elements collaged together.

This is the ketubah I made for my husband and I! We were inspired by the ‘ukame-gane’ style wedding rings we bought, which have several different kinds of precious metals mixed together to form a texture that looks similar to wood grains. We also hid the ‘I Love You’ hand sign in the wood grain design, as we commonly use it as short-hand with each other. This design has gold-leaf, silver-leaf, and copper-leaf on paper, as well as stained laser-cut wood. The text is also laser-cut with gold-leaf.

Many of the intricately designed and laser-cut paper elements in this ketubah are collaged together to form a grandiose piece that is rich with symbolism from Judaism and the groom’s home country. There are over a dozen layers of hand-made laser-cut paper, as well as gold-leaf. This is an example where the couple requested a border frame around hand-calligraphied text completed by a scribe.
